This procedure, also known as reduction mammaplasty, is the second most commonly requested cosmetic surgery of the breasts. Often, the procedure is performed to correct the postural problems, shoulder grooving, back pain, and the skin breakdown of the undersurface of the breast folds. In addition, this procedure reshapes the breasts to make them more proportionate to the remainder of the body for the particular height and weight of the patient.

The breast reduction is achieved by the surgical removal of excess skin and breast tissue, through several incisions around the lower portions of the breast, under the breast fold, and around the nipple.

This operation is performed by Dr. Ariyan under general anesthesia in the outpatient setting. Following surgery, you will be awakening in the recovery room before being discharged to your home or to a medical hotel room.
